Copy-Paste Writing Prompts for Writers:
- Thank a Friend for Something They’ve Done – It doesn’t have to be something your friend did for you directly but write a letter to a friend thanking them in detail for something they have done, accomplished, or said. You don’t have to send it but make the letter realistic enough that you could send it if you wanted to.
- Write About Who You Thought You Would be When You Grew Up – Everyone has an idea of who they think they’re going to be when they grow up. Pick an age between 10 and 14 and describe from your adult vantage point who you thought you’d be. What did you think you’d be doing right now at the age you are? Did you reach the goals you had for yourself? Are things completely different than you thought? Explain.
- Describe Your First Date Don’t Forget to Talk About How You Felt – You can pick your very first date, or you can pick the first date with your current spouse or partner. It’s up to you. Get into detail about how you felt, what you were thinking and whether the date turned out how you thought it would or not.
- Write About the Hardest Decision You Ever Made – In life, we all must make many decisions, sometimes with all the information and sometimes with only part of the information. How did you weigh the pros and cons of the decision you had to make? What made it hard? How did you feel once you made your choice? Do you have regrets? Why? Why not? Are you proud of yourself? Why? Why not?
- Writers Write About the Worst Decision You Ever Made – Sometimes we make bad choices. They may be made due to lack of information or just because we were ignoring facts at the time. Write about how the choice affected the rest of your life. Then write a new story as if you made the right choice. What would be different? Would you really want to go back?
- Write About and Describe the Best Meal You Ever Enjoyed – Food can be very motivating. Think about the very best meal you ever enjoyed. Did you enjoy it due to the food or due to who you were with? What made it your best meal to date?
- One Goal I Have Set for Myself This Year Is – Goals are important to have for everyone, especially as a writer. Describe one of the goals that you’ve set for yourself in detail including how you plan to reach the goal. What steps will you take to ensure that you accomplish the goal?
- Describe an Average Day in Your Life 10 Years from Today if You meet all Your Goals – It can be a way to motivate yourself by letting your creative side show in how you think your life will be assuming you meet your goals. Don’t make this a fantasy. Ensure that the goals you set are realistic and achievable first.
- Write About Something That Causes You to Feel Satisfied with Life – What is one thing that makes you feel satisfied with your life and how you’re living it? Contentment and satisfaction are an important component in everyone’s lives. Joy and sadness are part of your life, but the main portion of your life should be contentment. Are you content? If not, why not? If you are, why are you? How can you ensure more contentment?
- Describe Your Favorite Book – One thing that often motivates a writer is another person’s writing. Write a summary of your favorite book but take it further by explaining what makes it your favorite book. How did you feel while you were reading it? How did you feel when you were done reading it?
